This is the
DARLING
CHATTY CATHY
doll that was
made by Mattel - #19225.
The box date is 1998.
She is a reproduction of the original Chatty Cathy from 1960.
She was stored in her
ORIGINAL BOX
and was
NEVER DISPLAYED
and
NEVER PLAYED WITH
.
Chatty Cathy is 20 inches tall.
It looks like (from the box) that her original eyes may have been blue.
But along with other dolls stored in their box, they are a light brown.
They easily open and close.
Her blond hair is still in its original hairnet (never removed).
Her hair is adorned with a blue ribbon and flowers.
She can stand well on her own.
Chatty Cathy is wearing a blue & white dress, a white half slip, white panties, white socks, and black velvet shoes with flowers.
Pull the “magic ring” on the back of her neck and she speaks loudly and clearly.
The box lid indicates what she can say various sayings, such as:
“Where Are We Going, Let’s Play House, Tell Me a Story,” and several more.
The Certificate of Authenticity and Chatty Cathy storybook are in an unopened plastic bag that is attached to the inside of the box.
Also included is a shoe horn, like the one that came with Chatty Cathy in 1960.
The wrist tag provides a photo and information about the Chatty Cathy creators Ruth and Elliot Handler.
And,
