Up for your consideration is this wonderful little advertising duck figure for the Maddock's and Sons Company of Trenton, NJ. The duck is named the Durock Duck.This scarce little guy is from the 1920's.
Maddock and Sons produced a variety of goods, perhaps most well known for plumbing & sanitary equipment (primarily toilets, bathroom fixtures, etc).
This is a small "Durock Duck" figurine - distributed as an advertising piece or salesman sample. The duck is made of the same Durock porcelain used for their Durock line bathroom equipment and plumbing fixtures. The figurine is imprinted with the words "Durock Duck" on its breast and the underside is marked "Durock Duck" and "Maddock Trenton, N.J. / U.S.A."
The duck has a small hole on the back of its head and a square recessed area on its back...I'm not sure what this duck was originally designed for. The duck measures 2 3/8" in length, 1" in width, and 1 3/4" in height. The duck is in good condition, with no cracks, chips or repairs.
