10 x 7 x 5 MEYER TEXAS POTTERY VASE 54-10 Rare art Deco vase type with double handles - indicative of the 1930-40s. Very good condition some paint wear. Please view photos carefully.
Most of these pieces of Texas tourist ware were originally sold in San Antonio & other popular Texas tourist destinations. No two are alike and the painting varies depending on the artistic talents of the artists. The pieces most often
depicted scenes from the Hill Country or rural farmland, as does this beautiful vase. This vase has a young girl and boy sitting by a limestone well and pond under live oak trees. It is painted on the bisque colored clay as was many of the hand-painted Souvenir Meyer pieces. This vase is in good shape for its age - however the paint has worn off in some areas - please see photos for condition. This is a lovely piece of Texas history to add to your collection.
