A welcomed find from Pennsbury's line of art pottery devoted to the love of birds. Counterpart to the quality in bird figurines as that of Stangl, Pennsbury's work offers many birds -- I believe here, we have woodpeckers.
This wall pocket is very scarce. Few surface, and when they do, they do move fast. This example has excellent coloring ... I couldn't have scripted a better decorated piece. Exacting to the composition, the eyes are perfectly rendered on both birds; painted with precision and with no 'glitches' in the firing. The log represents green-like and brown coloration reminiscent of moss covered bark.
Of course, there's one perpetual hungry baby wanting its next meal.
