Description
The Coleman Company began production of the 426 series of stoves in 1949 and lasted until 1980. When a change was made in production, Coleman added a letter suffix to the Model number. The stove in this auction is 426C with the original box. The 426C had a short run from 1962 until 1964 according to the International Coleman Collectors Club book,Guide to Vintage Coleman Products 1900 to 1983.
This stove is an early one as the book states that Coleman added a production date on the underside of the fuel tank tabs beginning in late 1963. This stove has no date under the tabs. The box is not in good condition, the end flaps are torn and the cardboard is separating.
The stove is in excellent condition. It has for sure been used. The paint on the stoves has some chips and missing paint as does the fuel tank. There is also some surface rust, pictured. This stove has not been tested.
This stove unpacked weighs nearly 23 pounds! Shipping will be expensive beyond the west coast. I will ship FedEx as that will be the least expensive way.
