ABOUT 23K GOLD FOIL
Back in the "old days" (before the 1980s) hot stamping a name on leather, such as a Bible or a wallet, required 23K gold. If the cheaper imitation foils were used, the image would turn to a sick shade of green (like tarnished copper) because of a chemical reaction between the tanning oil in the leather and a component in the foil. Well, that doesn't happen any more (I'm not sure just why) and our regular gold foils sold here on eBay will do just fine on leather. But in many Christian bookstores, when a person buys a fine leather Bible, they still imprint it with 23K, just because it is just a nice touch.
MORE CONVENIENT WAY TO BUY
This 23K gold foil features a satin finish and comes in a small protective zip bag. You can cut off a small piece for immediate use and leave the roll sealed to lengthen its life. If you need to use it in your auto feeder, you can, although it is hard to imagine the need to imprint anything with 23K gold this way. This is similar to Kingsley foil that came on a larger roll, but Kingsley also sold it in packets of 12 sheets interleaved with very thin acid free paper. This was also a very protective way to present it, but required and lot of hand labor that, of course, increased the cost.
