Description
This is a piece of the carpet lining from the Lynyrd Skynyrd Covair CV-240 plane that crashed in the swamps of Gillsberg, Mississippi on October 20th 1977. The carpet foam lining ( "3.0X2.75“ ) was retrieved by Mr. Dwain Easley who as the first responder inside the plane and is a close neighbor as his property adjoins the crash site ( SEE Lynyrd Skynyrd The Last Stop: The Emma Harrington Project on Utube ). Dwain Easley is an unknown hero who personally removed the bodies from the inside of the plane and directly help save 20 souls that night!! This piece of carpet foam backing was pulled out of the exact location where the plane crashed from the swamp and has been dried out , but still maintains the dust from the swamp. The lot comes with a Certificate of Authenticity thoroughly defining the material and its history. It has been signed personally by Dwain Easley! The lot also comes with an 8"X10" of the entire band posing in front of the plane and signed by band survivor Artimus Pyle with added " Lynyrd Skynyrd Convair CV240 10-20-77 " and Artimus Pyle's recollection of plane crash letter " A Thumbnail Sketch Of Tragedy"! Remember they only used this plane for 3 days. See new movie " Street Survivors ". I saw it and is was devastating !! FREE shipping to the winning bidder.
