This is a Vintage Mattel Chatty Cathy Doll with The More Desired Brown Eyes. She is Wearing Her Original Dress and Underpants.
She is a Pretty Doll That has Been Freshly Cleaned.  She Offers No Dirt and No Vintage Grime. She is in Display Ready Condition.
She is Circa 1962 With the #4 Speaker and the Lighter Skintone Limbs. She is in Original Condition with Original Side Seams. All Body Parts are Original to this Doll. She is the Correct Head on the Correct Body. The Only Change is She is Now Clean.
She is approximately 20" Tall and is Marked "Chatty Cathy/Patents Pending/MCMLX/By Mattel, Inc/Hawthorne Calif".
She Has a Soft Vinyl Head With with Rich Brown Color Decal Sleep Eyes. Her Eyes are Clean, Clear and the Color Has Not Faded. She has All of her Long Eyelashes. Both Eyes Open and Close as Intended. She Still Has Some Factory Done Under Eye Liner Present. Her Eyebrows and Her Freckles are Light Brown and Are Still Noticed. She has her Original Light Coral/Pink Lip Color that is Faded and her Original Teeth.  Some Light Cheek Blush Has been Added.
Her Lovely Brunette Hair Has Lighter and Darker Highlighting. It Was Washed, Conditioned and Gently Curled into very loose curls. She Now has a Clean Scalp Too. She has Nice Full Bangs at the Correct Length. The Fullness of her Hair is Original with No Re-roots. No Haircuts Noted.  She has Some Empty Hairplugs in the Back that are not Noticed Unless you look for them. If you want her Hair Longer, just gently brush out the curls.
Her #4 Speaker the Hexagon Shape. She has her Original Pullstring and Magic Ring.
This Doll Does Talk Some. Her speech is Low Volume With High Pitched Words. There is Some Clickity Background Noise too. Her Talking is Not Consistent and She May Say Nothing on Any Given Pull. If you are Buying This Doll To Be A Talker, She Will Not Fulfill That Requirement.
This Chatty Cathy Doll Will Require Voice Repair to Talk Properly.
Chatty Has Nice Clean Side Seams. They are Solid and Secure. She Has Never Been Opened Up for Repair. Her Shoulder Seams are Beginning to Separate due to normal wear and tear. There is a Teeny, Tiny Chip Missing from her Left Shoulder Seam. She has a Tiny (in millimeters) reseal on her butt cheek.
She has the Lighter Colored Limbs that are Uniform in Color. The #4's Have Tight Leg Limbs. Her Legs Can Move Forward or Backward, But I did not try to get her in a Sitting Position. I don't want to Force Them.  When Naked Her Arms are Swingy. When Dressed I can Pose Them.
She has All Fingers and Toes.
Her Head Moves Freely From Side-to-Side.
She Comes With A Complete Ensemble. There Are Some Original Pieces and Some Brand New Accessories.
She Comes Wearing her Original 1961 Nursery School Dress with the Red Rayon Underpants. This Dress is in Very Good Condition. It has both the Mattel Tag and the Paper Japan Tag which means it comes to you completely Original. It has Never Been Washed. The paper tags disintegrate when they hit water.  The Dress has No Fading and No Color Runs. It has the Original Petite Buttons on the Bodice and the Original Buttons in the back for Closure. It Does Show Some Age Spotting/Light Stains.
Her Bright Red Underpants are Original to this Outfit. Made of Rayon they are still a bright Red. They have the Elastic Waist Stretched and a Sewing Repair to the back. The Picture Shows the Sewing Repair Circled in "Computer Ink". This Circle of Ink Does Not Appear on the Actual Underpants.
Her Brand New, Out-of-Package Accessories Include her White Socks with Lace Trim, Her Black Mary Jane Style Shoes with Gold Buckles that Velcro to the Side, And Her Red Grosgrain Hair Ribbon Bows each with a Yellow Rosette in the Center. These are on Bobbie Pins.
Her Pictures Were taken in Natural Sun Light Some With Flash and Some Without.
No Color Saturation is Ever Used in Our Pictures.
Vintage Imperfections/Flaws ~ Have been Stated Above. And Please Always Expect Some Normal Age Wear to a 60 Year Old Doll.
All Imperfections Have Been Disclosed/and or Photographed.
This Chatty is a Lovely Doll for Her 60 Years and She Displays Nicely.
That Being Said she is Being Sold as a Used, Pre-Owned, Pre-Played With, Vintage 60 Year Old Doll. She is Not Perfect, Not Mint and Not Brand New.
**Chatty Cathy Does Not Talk Properly and is Being Sold as a Non-Talking, Non-Working Doll. She Will Require Voice Repair to Talk Properly **.
