I have been regularly using my BioLite BaseCamp
for over 4 years...
mostly at home, and
all year long in Colorado!
I have two of these!
Super fun with company... everyone loves it!
S'mores & about anything you can imagine from
amazing grilled veggies and or more!
Mine is ready to fire up
with a bucket of sticks
close by & a lighter.
This workhorse of a unit
has all but replaced the gas grill.
It uses very little wood ~ mostly dead branches
from
landscape clippings.
Very little smoke makes this a fantastic
table-side grill.
It is so enjoyable to relax & enjoy a real fire.
Food tastes far better than any other grill I've ever used.
On chilly nights, the heat is awesome!
Great for car camping :-)
By utilizing varied wood selection,
you can easily & quickly achieve
a very hot fire
or reduce temperatures
by shifting different sizes of wood
in & out of the fire chamber as needed.
For easy fire maintenance,
keep lots of different size pieces of wood handy.
I build & keep a fire made of small, medium and large pieces.
Keeping a large piece of wood burning
will help keep your fire going.
Small pieces will burn fast & bring up the temperature fast.

lighting up when power button is pressed.

More Seller Notes:
Battery will hold a charge for a long time when not in use.
***However,
in the
rare event that no Battery Power Lights
are lit
when power button is pushed,
please recharge
with a Reverse Charge USB cable first
before operating with fire to prevent damage.

The Battery unit will RECHARGE itself regularly
from the ThermoElectric generator through the process of burning wood.
There are two sets of operational lights:
(See combination photo of orange ThermoElectric Power Unit)
On the left are the stored Battery Power Lights by the Battery Icon.
(2 of 4 are lit as shown in the photo)
On the right are the Fire Heat Level Lights by the Fire Icon.
(all 4 are not lit since it's not in use)
The Fire Heat Level Lights will light up
when fire is present & after a few minutes of burning.
The unit will then turn on the Fire Chamber Fan which then
burns wood efficiently with less smoke!
One light is low heat.
Four lights lit is very hot.
Most grilling is best on 3 lights for searing, and 2 lights for general cooking.
With the PizzaDome in place, things will heat up fast, and less fire is needed.
Just pull some wood out of the chamber to slow the fire.
Hint: For a really quick HOT fire, use some "Fatwood"
Fatwood is high resin wood from downed, old trees.
I use Orvis Fatwood.
Also note that different wood types burn differently
for both temperature, burn time & flavor.
Some of the best wood is hardwood such as trimmings from apple trees
~ this type of wood imparts wonderful flavor!
