About the Optimus Campingo No. 1:
The Optimus Campingo is one of the primary predecessors to and grandfather of modern camp stoves including the Optimus 11, then the Hiker 111.
Featuring the Optimus-patented drop-down front still used today on the Optimus 8R.
This stove was built to burn on kerosene or white gas without changing the burner / jet or nipple.
Specifics:
If you're looking to fill out your Classic Camp Stove Collection, here is your stove. The No. 1 model (1 burner) is more difficult to find than the dual burner, Optimus Campingo No. 2.
This single burner antique camp stove is in lightly-cleaned, as-found, untested condition.
The brass has its original patina. It could easily be polished to a bright shiny brass if desired.
Based on the shape of the control knob, the stove dates roughly between 1929 and 1939.
The priming cup looks good, the control knob appears functional, and the thick, heavy brass tank pressure vessel, heat shield, filler cap and priming pump fittings are complete and in good, undented condition.
The burner flame ring is slightly misshapen on one side but could be corrected.
If it is purchased for use, it will need new seals, inline fuel filter cleaned, etc.
