ROYCROFT Small Whiskey Jug Antique Arts and Crafts Mission New York Art Pottery

Up for auction is this old whiskey jug. It is in very good antique condition. There is a small ding on rim with no other problems.
It has the same rich and glossy tobacco finish that Roseville and Weller were using around the turn of the twentieth century. The owner of the Roycroft died in the Lusitania in 1915 and the Roycroft shops stopped producing TOP Quality items around 1920 - the depression.
See photos for reflections in the rich glaze - hard to photograph a mirror. Some pics are a little dark. The cork is in the jug.
It was by all means a grand experiment in answer to the mass production of inferior products and the Industrial revolution in general.
