Welcome to this listing. We are extremely pleased to offer a vintage circa 1960-1961 20-inch Chatty Cathy doll with brown eyes, brunette hair, and soft face and she talks.  This is an early Chatty Cathy doll; she has an oval cloth-covered speaker grill, and her torso is not marked.  She is dressed in her original white blouse, solid blue jumper with crinoline slip, and blue shoes.  We are not certain that the white panties and white socks are original.  The label in the jumper states "Chatty Cathy by Mattel."  The shoes are marked "Japan."  The back of the doll is not marked, as with the early Chatty Cathy dolls.  Part of her paper tag is present.  We have heard her say the following 11 phrases:
I'm hungry.
Where are we going?
Play with me.
Carry me.
Read a story.
I hurt myself.
Sleepy.
Play house.
Change my dress.
I love you.
Brush my hair.
The doll is in very good condition and talks.  We have heard 11 phrases and most are quite clear.  Her face and body are not damaged, and all the limbs will hold positions although the legs are not stiff.  The jumper, blouse, crinoline, panties, shoes and socks are in good used condition, and none of the items are ripped or torn. The fasteners in the jumper and blouse are present and work.  The blouse and crinoline are slightly yellow with age.  The edge of the crinoline is soiled and the elastic in the waist is stretched out and needs to be repaired.  The shoes exhibit some wear and neither has the elastic.  Please use the photos to assist you in determining if the contents of this listing meet with your requirements.
