WILL GEORGE OF PASADENA 12.5" CARDINAL BUD VASE IN BRILLIANT RED GLAZES 1940s

This magnificent Cardinal by Will George measures an awesome 12.5" high by 6.25" across by 4" wide.  Will George designed a line of birds in the 1940s that are stunningly beautiful!  His line of Cardinals was awesome to behold.  This one has a great classic form, with two openings in the tree branches, serving as a vase for flowers.  The Cardinal is majestically perched in the tree in all his glory, a gorgeous creature!  He is glazed in a rich red, with black accents, and presents most handsomely on this figural vase.  He is well marked by Will George on the base.  This vase is in excellent condition with a minor nick at the tip of his beak.    If you collect Will George's birds and figurals, or simply great examples of American art pottery, this Cardinal will add very nicely to your collection.  He makes a majestically beautiful presentation!
